Description
East India Company Ship's Stores Sea Service Musket, Richard Wilson, late 18th century. 38 1/2 in., .78 caliber barrel with ring decoration at the breech and London Company of Gunmakers' proof marks; convex lock plate with pointed tail, marked 'WILSON' below the pan; black-painted stock with crown over 'S' near the breech plug tang and on the right side of the butt, assembly marks in the rammer channel; brass British sea service-style furniture, two rammer and an entry pipe, steel rammer with button head. Overall lg. 54 1/2 in. Condition: Barrel and lock toned to dark brown with fine underlying pitting; stock has scattered sliver losses along the barrel channel, left side of the butt has been shaved down a little; brass toned to deep yellow/brown; lock functions properly.
