CIRCA 1854-1867), AND OTHERS Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), mid-to late 19th century Nine oban and eight chuban landscape prints by members of the Utagawa school: nine oban comprising: one yoko-e from the series Edo meisho (Famous Places in Edo) by Shigenobu (Hiroshige II), one tate-e from the series Edo Meisho doke zukushi (Comical Version of Famous Views of Edo) by Hirokage, five tate-e from the series Toto sanjurokkei (36 Views of the Eastern Capital) and a tate-e sheet from a triptych by Hiroshige II, and one yoko-e from the series Tokyo meisho zue (Illustrated Famous Places of Tokyo) by Hiroshige III; the rest, eight chuban tate-e/yoko-e of meishozu-e, the majority by Hiroshige II or Hiroshige III; all variously published and variously signed. Oban, the smallest: 31.8cm x 21.2cm (12½in x 8 5/16in), the largest; 24.7cm x 36.7cm (9 11/16in x 14 7/16in), chuban, the smallest: 16.4cm x 22.2cm (6 7/16in x 8¾in); the largest: 26.1cm x 18.5cm (10¼in x 7¼in).
