New York: Limited Editions Club, 1934. 4to. 6 etchings by Picasso, text printed in red and black, numerous vignette illustrations after Picasso in text. Publisher's pictorial boards, gray card chemise and slipcase. Wear and splitting to slipcase, browning to edges, a few fingermarks. LIMITED EDITION, SIGNED BY PICASSO IN PENCIL on the limitation page, number 1183 of 1500 copies. Picasso's illustrations playfully and sensitively '... capture the braggadocio of both the men and women in the play, along with the pomposity and potent sexuality of the men and the recalcitrance and potent sexuality of the women' (Rutledge, The Guernica Bull, 2008).
