BRIGID BERLIN (1939-2020) Andy Warhol in Santa Costume, 1978 Chromogenic print; framed, signed in ink on the reverse of the frame. 3 3/4 x 2 7/8 in. (9.5 x 7.3 cm.) Footnotes: Provenance Private collection, New York Note Brigid Berlin's photographs of Andy Warhol and Truman Capote are certainly the jolliest works in this auction (Lots 341-344). Warhol noted in his diary that Berlin was at the Factory when Capote arrived on 26 September 1978 to pose for the cover of the December 1978 issue of High Times magazine. While Mick Rock made the official cover image, Berlin took her own shots of Warhol in a Santa costume and Capote acting as his elf. The magazine titled this festive feature ''A Christmas Carol' by Truman Capote & Andy Warhol.' Lot to be sold without reserve.
