Including some Remarks on Grecian and Gothic Architecture, FIRST EDITION, half-title, 43 plates, comprising one uncoloured woodcut, 22 hand-coloured aquatint plates (10 with overslips), 20 plain or tinted aquatint plates (4 with overslips), 9 aquatint vignettes in the text (2 with overslips), several of the plates double-page, illustrations in text, later half morocco, spine tooled in gilt, red edges, joints refurbished, slightly rubbed [Abbey Scenery 391; Tooley 398], 4to (345 x 275mm.), T. Bensley & Son for J. Taylor, 1816 Footnotes: The first edition of Repton's last great work on landscape gardening, completed with the aid of his architect son. Provenance: Oxford & Cambridge University Club, stamp on verso of title, and device in gilt on spine.
