[Bosio (Giacomo)] Histoire des Chevalier de l`Ordr edited by Jean Baudouin 3 parts in 1 lacking additional engraved title second part with divisional title dated 1658 third part with title within engraved architectural border but ?misbound between Ei & Eiii of third part and lacking Eii with 5 engraved maps and plates (including Malta and Cyprus) 1 folding c.60 engraved plans and portraits in text (lacking 2 where panel cut from Diiii of third part pp.43-44 with slight loss to text repaired) woodcut head- & tail-pieces and initials main title lightly stained and with some repairs (mostly affecting imprint) a few other marginal defects and repairs but generally a clean copy modern calf spine gilt a little rubbed [Brunet I 1124; Not in Blackmer] folio Paris Jacques d`Allin 1659-58. *** Bosio`s work concerning the Knights of Malta was first published in Rome between 1594 and 1602; this translation by Pierre de Boissat first appeared in 1612.
