A Bamana Spiritual Figure Door Lock. Mali.A large door lock shaped as a mythical figure, wearing a headdress and a pair of horns, with interlocking wooden non metal lock piece, to be sold with custom-made stand. A very beautiful and expertly carved example. Provenance: British private collection. Condition: Good overall, with a a nice warm dark patina and deposits. This figure embodies a spiritual guardian easily identified by the Bamana people, acting as a spiritual as well as a physical lock protecting against theft.
