A Japanese Naginata, Sengoku/Edo Period.With curved blade formed with two red lacquer filled fullers on each face, the tang signed Bushu Shimonara ju Hironobu (active in Sengoku to Edo era), and pierced with a single hole, on its partially lacquered haft with weighted shoe, complete with its black lacquered scabbard painted with a red flowerhead clan mon. Provenance: From a British private collection. Condition: Good overall, with some age related wear, the scabbard with cracks and losses.
