A Walker & Hall silver gilt and enamel Freedom casket presented to Alderman Walter James Crookes, County Borough of Doncaster, 9th December 1948, the hinged lid with silver and enamel Borough Arms finial, obverse set with two enamel plaques above the Borough mace and wreath, verso inscription, on stepped feet, 82.33 toz, 25.5 by 14.5 by 21cm, with scroll, portrait of Alderman Crooke as Mayor 1929-30, local obituary notice, and a 9ct gold medallion commemorating `7 years faithful service` to the Doncaster Branch of ASLEF as President, 13.7g.
