Bamfords can offer postage on items of a small and non-fragile nature, our minimum charge is £25.00 for Royal Mail Special Delivery service. Please be aware that we cannot offer postage of jewellery, weapons, ceramics or paintings & pictures and we do not offer postage internationally. Collection of Goods

We have exciting news that we shall be soon moving to new premises.  We are trying our best to keep our auctions running as usual during this time and would appreciate your cooperation and support during our transition.

Collection of all goods must be made by the end of the day on the Tuesday following an auction (unless prior arrangements have been agreed with us). We accept no responsibility for loss, damage or breakages to any lots left here after that time.

For purchasers requiring postage and packing, a request to use this service must be made by the end of the day on the Friday following an auction.

All goods remaining at the auction rooms after this time (unless postage and packing has been requested) will be subject to a storage charge of £5 per lot per day (unless prior agreement has been made with us). Bamfords Auctioneers reserve the right to sell uncollected items either at auction or privately.

Please note, Collection of purchases is by appointment only please.  We can offer a number of delivery options upon request, postage, pack and send companies and couriers, all of whom are operating within their own restriction regulations.


Payment online or by telephone with a debit card please and collection strictly by appointment to comply with government social distancing measures and enable Bamfords to continue to carry out auctions.

Condition Statement

Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 5.5% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed

PAYMENT WILL BE COLLECTED FROM THE CARD USED FOR REGISTRATION WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE PURCHASE.

Please collect items purchased within 48 hours, items remaining in the saleroom after one week without prior arrangement will be subject to storage charges of £10 per lot per day, once the charges incurred exceed the value of the lot it will be sold to recover the storage cost. No in house postage service on fragile items, please contact the auctioneer before purchasing the item in regards to the cost of postage

Terms & Conditions

18 - Buyers Premium


The purchaser shall pay the hammer price together with a premium of 24.75% of the hammer price for the ALL sales. There is no minimum buyers premium. The amount invoiced will be premium plus VAT (where VAT is chargeable) but this VAT will not normally be recoverable by the buyer. The vendor authorises the Auctioneer to deduct commission and expenses at the stated rates from the hammer price and acknowledges the Auctioneer’s right to retain the premium payable by the purchaser.

Any lot purchased through the services of ATG Media will be subject to a further charge of 5.5% of the hammer price (plus VAT where chargeable)

All items must be collected within one week of purchase, failure to collect the lot will result in storage charges being applied at a rate of £5 per lot per day + VAT.  Once the storage fees exceed the value of the item purchased, all buyers rights are waived and Bamfords reserve the right to sell the item to recover storage charges incurred.
