An 18th century Cream ware ovoid teapot, possibly Cockpit Hill, Derby, inscribed with the verse ' Be you to all men kind & true/As you'd have them behave to you/And neither say nor do to them/Whate'er you would not take again', to verso with 'When this you see remember me/And bear me in your mind 'Let all the world say what they will/Speak of me as you find', within borders of boldly painted colourful summer flowers, ball finial, domed cover, loop handle, 22cm long, c. 1775
