A George III three piece half-fluted boat shaped tea service, comprising teapot, milk jug and sugar basin, rectangular knop finial, flush-hinged domed cover, acantus capped angular scroll handles, gadrooned borders cast with shells and leafy scrolls to angles, conforming paw feet, gilt interiors, the teapot with ivory insulators, crested, 28cm long, George Knight, London 1818, 41oz gross The crest is that of the family of Powys, the head of which from 1797 has been Lord Lilford.
