Charles Francis Georg Richard Schwerdt (British, 1862-1939)
Schwerdt assembled the greatest English sporting collection of his time. Including over 3,000 works, it took years to complete a full bibliography of Schwerdt’s collection. After his death, his assorted books, manuscripts, prints, and drawings were sold through a series of sales at Sotheby’s between 1939 and 1946. In those sales, the British Museum purchased a number of works. Since its dissemination, there has been no collection to equal Schwerdt’s.
Condition
Darkening to the spines with occasional soiling and scuffs to the boards. Minor bumping to the corners and edges of the boards. The ribbon marker in each volume is intact. Darkening of the paper along the edges. Internally very bright and clean.
Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
