Henry Shaw (English, 1800-1873)
Shaw left a legacy as a skilled architectural draughtsman, engraver, illuminator and antiquarian. Born in London, he was exposed to the arts at an early age. He was employed to illustrate many important historical texts on antiquities and architecture around England. In 1833, he was elected a fellow of the Society of Antiquities. There he made many important contributions to historical texts. His personal copy of “Illuminated Ornaments,” finished by his own hand, is in the library of the British Museum.

Slight darkening to spines and wear along the hinges. Both in overall very good condition.
