Charles Dickens is a classic English novelist, known for such important stories as, “Oliver Twist,” “A Christmas Carol,” “David Copperfield,” and “A Tale of Two Cities.” Growing up poor, his father sent to prison for debt, and struggling on his own with money, Dickens’ novels often feature commentary on social issues of the downtrodden. He was often pulled out of school to help support his family. When taken out of school again at the age of 15, he took a post as an office boy which would eventually lead him to his career as an author – a path that would lead him to world travels and a global legacy.

Occasional scuffs and bumps to the bindings. Very faint and occasional fox marks. The volumes are in overall very good condition.
