DAS IST: GRÜNDLICHE UNTERWEISUNG (THE ART OF WAR FOR CAVALRY: INTRODUCTION)
/ 1670, Germany, Frankfurt am Main / 30 x 20,5 x 2,5 cm  <br> A famous book about the art of cavalry fighting, weapons, military strategy and tactics. Author Johann Jacobi von Wallhausen was a captain and senior master-sentinel who  established the first German military school in what is now Gdańsk in 1617. The engraved title is by Matthaus Meritan. Richly illustrated copperplate prints by Theodor de Bry. Preserved, period full parchment binding sewn to four strips of parchment backing, paper case, 76 pages, 43 numbered enclosures, several enclosures are not numbered. Full title: Kriegs-Kunst zu Pferd: Das ist: Gründliche Unterweisung / Wie die Cavallery / Als Lantzierer / Kürißirer / Carabiner und Tragoner: In Kriegs-übung abzurichten: Was Ihnen zu wissen nöthig und ein jeder praestiren kan ; Dabeneben neue/ schöne Invention etlicher Bataglien mit der Cavallery/ Mit dargestelten Discursen und Beweißthumen/ von der Edlen Kriegskunst Fürtrefflichkeit/ und was an derselben gelegen.

We cordially invite all art lovers to our special Evening Auction held regularly each year at our gallery, Arthouse Hejtmánek in Prague–Bubeneč. The auction will be held in the winter garden adjacent to the gallery on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6pm.

We will auction extraordinary works of art, antiques and design from the 14th century to the present.
