Gilt titles to the spine only. Head/heel and corners are slightly bumped. Black and white illustrations throughout with black and white photographic plates at rear.
This Deluxe edition is limited to 200 copies, signed by the author of which this is No. 196. Overall, the book and the binding are in very good condition.
This book is the story of the settlement of South Africa as revealed in its homesteads, whether mud hut or ornate mansion, in its churches, in its villages and in the everyday life of the men and women who struggled against great odds to develop a new country where they could start life afresh.
