Publisher's original brown cloth binding with gilt titles on the spine and front panel. The book is in excellent condition with square text block, sharp corners, and clean white pages with no inscriptions.
The scarce dust jacket, taking its age into account, is in very good plus condition, with very little of the edge wear that is usually associated with this title.
The first monograph on one of South Africa's most important artists, Jacob Hendrik Pierneef. This is the first English edition published in 1947. There are 27 pages of text followed by 74 black and white and color prints. An excellent, clean copy in the scarce dust jacket.
