Fred Duckworth A Far From Ordinary Life-A Diary of Adventures in an Africa now Past. Hardback with
Hardback with dustcover over original black boards. Illustrated by Elsie van der Heijden.
Born in 1934, Fred Duckworth has devoted his adult life to the management and pursuit of African wildlife as a Game Warden, Professional Hunter and Safari Operator in most of Africa's best and least known big game regions, where few other men have ventured.
Fred and his charming wife, Elsie van der Heijden, live in the quaint, 14th century Dutch village of Ravenstein. Together, they operate and arrange classic, fair-chase hunting safaris in the Central African Republic, Tanzania and other African countries. They specialise in guiding ethnological and wildlife photographic safaris to the remotest regions of Ethiopia's Omo River valley, and the Bale and Simien Mountains National Parks on the soaring, domed plateaux at the roof of Africa.
Recognised as one of Africa's premier professional hunters and wildlife consultants, Fred is a member of both the African and Tanzanian Professional Hunter's Associations.
His stories of African big game hunting have been widely published over three decades in the SCI "SAFARI" magazine. "The Field" of London, "Hatari Times" and "Jager" in Europe, the "African Sporting Gazette", Safari Press's "The African Country Series", et al.
Realising the potential for a truly exvocative tale of Africa, the original "Kasupe Man-Eater" manuscript evolved into this autobiography of 30 years of adventures in hunting.
