A facsimile reprint of the original 1849 edition of hand-coloured lithographs.
With a new introduction and notes by Dr. Frank R. Bradlow
133 pages, 35 subjects mounted on 30 leaves with accompanying text, half-bound in green Harmatan morocco (goatskin). The boards are covered with a material (paper) known as Napura Khepera (KHE792), manufactured by Winter & Company, a Swiss company which specialises in the manufacture of book covering materials of high quality. The binding is a classic leather binding as opposed to a case binding, which was used on the traditional De Luxe bindings of this edition. The book has Cat’s Tooth lines in gold foil running across the head and tail of the spine with fleurons in gold foil in each spine panel as well as the date in gold foil at the base of the spine. On either side of the raised bands there are Cat’s Tooth lines blind stamped across the spine, a fine copy.
