Facsimile reproduction of the first edition of 1895, with additional frontispiece and Publishers' introduction


236 pages, frontispiece, title page vignette and 12 plates, numerous text illustrations, pictorial cream buckram, top edge gilt, a very good copy in the original publishers box, with the 2 right hand corners of the upper box torn.


This is a limited edition of 750 numbered copies of which Nos. 1-50 are the Collector's edition bound in full leather, and nos. 51 – 750 are the standard edition. This is no. 79.


Perhaps the best of the facsimile reprints of Southern African hunting and colour plate books. Produced by 'Books of Rhodesia' and printed in Bulawayo, the publisher took great care to simulate as closely as possible the heavy coated paper on the which the original text and the stiff card on which the electro-etchings were printed.
