Original red pebble grained cloth binding with gilt titling on the spine and black decorations on the upper board and repeated blind stamped on the lower board. Yellow end papers. xii prelims, 268 pages, black and white illustrations by Pierre Mejanel.
A close up is provided of the publisher's notice that the portrait of the author has been replaced.
CONDITION DETAILS: The binding has some wear and the spine is cocked. There is a book plate and a book seller's label on the front paste down. Thee first and last last few pages have some foxing, but overall an internally clean copy.
