Overall, this is a Very Good copy of a nearly sixty-year-old book, generously produced, set in a large size of Gill Perpetua and with many colour illustrations in the text.
Colour dustjacket, lilac cloth-boards, gilt to spine, top-edge gilt, plain cream endpapers, xx, including colour frontispiece and map, + 267 pp of profusely colour- and monochrome-illustrated text and index on cream matt-art paper.
The dustjacket is complete, but edge-chipped with small tears and price-clipped. The boards are very lightly shelf-rubbed. The endpapers are very good, with an ownership name on the front free endpaper. The book remains tightly bound and the contents are complete, otherwise unmarked and undiscoloured.
