From Czech: "In his second work on photographing and hunting game in East Africa, Schillings captures the essence of the African landscape and its people with his brilliant, early snapshots. The first volume concerns a general view of the region, with a brief history of the encroachment of civilization on the African wild and an interesting, if oddly placed chapter on sport and nature in Germany. The second volume includes chapters on hunting elephant, rhino, and lion with additional sport after leopard, eland and other antelope. There is a remarkable photograph of the extraordinary pair of elephant tusks weighing a combined 450 pounds".
