Broom and colleagues description of the discovery and details of this pre-hominin species, now famously known for the “Mrs. Ples” skull, discovered in the Sterkfontein caves in the ‘Cradle of Humankind’ close to Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1947.  


Gold embossing on the front cover and faded spine. A tight copy with the boards and the text block intact and in good condition. Sketches and black and white photographs of specimens.


115 pages. Previous owner’s name in pen on free endpaper.
