Brooke Simons, Phillida
THE LIFE & WORK OF CHARLES BELL

Large oblong quarto (240 x 275 mm), 176 pages. Lavishly illustrated with nearly 180 reproductions, mostly in full colour.

This extremely beautiful volume is another feather in the cap of Fernwood Press. Apart from Phillida Brooke Simons’ enjoyable and very authoritative text we are also given a valuable appraisal of Bell’s art by Michael Godby.

The book has been designed with great care and imagination, and is particularly finely printed. This copy is no.6 of the Special Collectors’ Edition of only 100 copies, signed by the author, and bound in half leather, in slip case, by the late Peter Carstens. A very good copy.
