Original vintage poster advertising Pernod Fils featuring a colourful map of France with the Tour de France cycling race route from Amsterdam to Paris with white text on red Pernod 45 and blue Pernod 51 flags above for the race's official sponsor Pernod (producers of the alcoholic drink Pernod 45 and Pernod Pastis 51; now Pernod Ricard), a bottle of Pernod 45 and Pernod 51 on each side of the map with a sheet attached on the right where the winners and ranking of each stages can be filled in. First held in 1903 and now one of the biggest annual sport events in the world, the 1954 Tour de France was the 41st multi-stage cycling event race, held from 8 July to 1 August 1954; the bike race consisted of 23 stages over 4,656km; the race was won by the professional cyclist Louison Bobet (Louis "Louison" Bobet; 1925-1983), the second of his three consecutive wins. Offset Imp. Georges Lang. Horizontal. Good condition, folds, creasing, small tears in margin, separate sheet stapled to poster on right side.
