Original vintage UK Quad movie poster for the 1973 American coming-of-age comedy film American Grafitti - “Where were you in ’62?”. Directed and co-written by George Lucas and produced by Francis Ford Coppola. and starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Harrison Ford, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips, Bo Hopkins, and Wolfman Jack, the film was the launchpad for many mainstream actors and directors. Set in Modesto, California, in 1962, the film is a study of the cruising and early rock 'n' roll cultures popular among the early baby boomer generation and received widespread critical acclaim as well as being nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. Produced on a small budget, it has become one of the most profitable films of all time and had a soundtrack that would be a staple in rollerskating rinks around the country for years to come.The poster features a classic design by the American caricaturist Mort Drucker best known as a contributor for over five decades in Mad, where he specialized in satires on the leading feature films and television series.
