Description
Original vintage WWII propaganda poster: The Bridge Builders. This poster features black and white vignettes photographs showing the British Troops and Indian Troops using elephants to help them build bridges across the Chindwin River to pursue their progress against the Japanese army during the Burma Campaign. The Burma Campaign, which took place towards the end of WWII in 1944 and 1945, resulted in the defeat of the Japanese Army and the liberation of Burma after it had been invaded by the Empire of Japan in 1942. The Burma campaign in the South-East Asian Theatre of World War II was fought primarily by British Commonwealth, Chinese and United States forces against the forces of Imperial Japan, who were assisted to some degree by Thailand, the Burmese National Army and the Indian National Army. The British Commonwealth land forces were drawn primarily from the United Kingdom, British India and Africa. Condition: Good condition, creasing, small tear..
