Rare antique, Southeast Asian Cambodian Khmer, silvered bronze sitting Vishnu. Late 13th, early 14 century . This silvered bronze is rare. Most Khmer bronzes were not gilt or silvered. This bronze, which is probably Vishnu, as he is holding, what seems to be, a conch and a disk. The facial expression is different from what we usually see in 12-13 century pieces. The details are fine: jewelry, head attire and the modeling of the face. The bronze under the silver coating has a nice fine patina. Reds, greens and other shades of the patina give the bronze a wonderful overall radiant luster. The bronze is in very good condition considering its age. There are no cracks, losses or dents . Size 16x13x17 cm
