2nd century BC-2nd century AD. A terracotta rhyton with stylised bovine head to the spout, the upper section a female bust modelled in the round, painted hair with band of whorls to the crown, ears pierced to accept earrings, collar with roundels above exposed breasts, short tapering neck with everted rim; mounted on a custom-made stand. 987 grams, 30cm including stand (11 3/4"). Property of a London gallery; previously on the London and Paris art markets since 1997; formerly in a Swiss private collection; accompanied by a copy of French passport and thermoluminescence report number R141444-7 by Re.S.Arts, Bordeaux, France, dating the piece to 140 BC-120 AD. Fine condition, some restoration.

A couple of slight weaknesses around rim and on lettering, image of Prince clear and bold, a full round pleasing coin, in PCGS holder graded MS 62, Pop 1; the only example graded at both services. rare.
