The aesthetic characteristics of this work invite to think that it is a painting typical of the Flemish school; The quantity of characters that are gathered in the scene, the detail with which all the elements that form the scene are treated, and even the colouring with an ashen finish are typical characteristics of the Flemish school.
This story is narrated in the Gospel according to Mark 10:13-16. "Many people gathered around Jesus; they wanted to hear him tell stories; they wanted to hear him teach about heaven. When people were sick, Jesus healed them. He healed people who could not see and healed people who could not hear. One day, some people brought their little children to see Jesus; they wanted Him to give their children a blessing. The disciples told the people not to bother Jesus, because they thought he was too busy.
Jesus was not too busy; He told His disciples to let the children come to Him, and He said that the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like little children.Jesus loves all children. No matter who you are, what you look like, or where you live, Jesus loves you!
