Terms and conditions.

The auction will open on line from 29th April 2016, ending from 8 pm on 8th May 2016

The auction website works with an automatic two minute extension system. If a further bid comes in within two minutes of the end of the auction, the lot will be extended for another two minutes and if another bid follows then extended again until all bids have ceased.

There will be a 15% + VAT buyer’s premium on all lots in this sale on the hammer price. This will include the 3% statutory fee charged by the saleroom.

All paintings are fully warranted to be original works of art by the late Mick Cawston.   All prints were published by Sally Mitchell Fine Arts and carry genuine signatures and numbers.

Payment will be accepted by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo, Switch, Paypal or by cheque made payable to Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd. Cheques will need to clear before goods are collected if the buyer is not known to us. Payments can also be made by cash on collection. Please note due to money laundering regulations we are unable to accept cash payments in excess of £7500.

Prior to bidding, buyers will be asked to register their full details and credit card number online, this is totally confidential in-line with data protection and sensitive data will not be made available to Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd unless you are a successful purchaser. This is normal procedure for internet auctions. By bidding on a lot you are entering into a legal contract to purchase if you win the item. Title will not pass until the lot is paid for in full including VAT. Payments must be received within three days of the auction ending, if no payment or arrangements are made we reserve the right to re-sell all or any lots by public auction or private treaty and any deficiencies in the purchase price resulting from such sale together with full costs incurred in connection with the lot or lots shall be paid to Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd by the original buyer. We reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card automatically with these costs.

As a service to buyers who are not connected to the internet we will place bids received in writing with the appropriate details, prior to the end of the auction. In the event of two buyers making the same bid which becomes the winning bid then the bid received first will take priority. Should a buyer be out bid we will make every effort to notify them. However we cannot be held responsible for any mistakes resulting in the failure to purchase.

All bids must be made in Stirling.

Reserves will be placed on most lots and will not be higher than the bottom estimate. It will record on screen if the reserve has not been reached.

All lots will be available to view at Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Gallery, The Newcastle Arms, 1 Market Place, Tuxford, Notts, NG22 0LA from 18th April 2016 until the auction closes on 8th May 2016. Opening hours – 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Mon to Friday, and 8.30am - 3pm Saturday. All other times by appointment.

Buyers are deemed to have inspected the items prior to the sale and while every effort is made to describe items accurately, Sally Mitchell will not be held responsible for any mistakes in sizes (sizes listed are approximate).

Not all items are newly framed and buyers must satisfy themselves to the style and condition of the frame beforehand. While we are happy to re-frame pictures this will be charged for and not included in the sale price.

Copyright on all the images in this collection/auction, in the catalogue and on all or any internet sites rests with Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd and no copyright will pass with the sale of the pictures. No use may be made of any of the images without prior consent from Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd.

Once payment has cleared, your won lot(s) can be collected from our gallery, or we can arrange delivery via a courier service at cost, we can ship to most parts of the world. A charge for packing and postage will be payable depending on size / weight and destination; please ask for details. Items must be removed from our gallery by 11th May 2016 or storage charges may be applied.
