Le Roy, Hippolyte (Belgian, 1857-1943); b. Liège NETHERLANDS, Conférence de la Paix, The Hague, 1907, a silver medal by H. Le Roy for the Société Hollandaise-belge des Amis de la Médaille d’Art [issued 1909], standing robed figure of Peace indicating a farmer ploughing a field to seated naked male warrior, rev. ship in a stormy sea, 65mm, 109.46g (Zwierzina 747; ANS Exh. Cat. 1910, p.194-5, no. 9; BDM VII, 551; cf. Künker e83, 656; cf. MPO 78, 2547). Extremely fine and toned, rare £300-£400 --- Provenance: Elsen Auction 114 (Brussels), 15 September 2012, lot 1807. The Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907 were a series of international declarations and treaties negotiated at two international peace conferences. Along with the Geneva Conventions, they were among the first formal regulations regarding the laws of war and war crimes to be enshrined in international law

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
Shipping Exceptions
