R.) with flattened named box of issue, very fine Pair: Private A. Carpenter, 18th (County of London) Battalion (London Irish Rifles), London Regiment, later Machine Gun Corps British War and Victory Medals (6491 Pte. A. Carpenter. 18-Lond. R.) good very fine and better Pair: Private A. Stevens, 21st (County of London) Battalion (First Surrey Rifles), London Regiment, later 7th (City of London) Battalion, London Regiment, who was wounded by shrapnel in May 1918 British War and Victory Medals (656226 Pte. A. Stevens. 21-Lond. R.) very fine (6) £80-£100 --- Harry Hallett Sawdy was born on 10 October 1899 and initially served on the Western Front as a Private in the 16th Battalion, London Regiment, before later transferring to the 24th Battalion, London Regiment. He is later recorded in the 1939 Register as a cinema manager living at Bexley, Kent. Albert Carpenter initially served with the 18th Battalion, London Regiment, before transferring to the Machine Gun Corps and being discharged to Army Reserve in 1919. Alfred Stevens initially attested for the 21st London Regiment at Camberwell on 22 November 1917. Posted to France with the 7th Battalion, he suffered a shrapnel injury to the right forearm on 18 May 1918 and was evacuated to No. 5 General Hospital at Rouen. Transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital (Netley) and Plymouth Convalescent Hospital, he likely later returned to civilian employment at Victoria Station with the L.B. & S.C. Railway.

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.

Shipping Exceptions
Certain lots such as those containing glass or sharp implements, etc., may not be suitable for in-house shipping within or outside of the UK. Please contact Noonans with any queries.
