Signed lower right, Floch. 1958. Oil on canvas. 40" x 29". Joseph Floch is one out of many Austrian artists who left Vienna in the twenties and went to Paris, the center of the avant-garde at this time. In 1941 he moved on to New York, where he and his family found a new home. Today the works of Joseph Floch are in numerous museums and collections worldwide. Purchased directly from the artist's estate by a Private Upstate New York Institution in 1983. Minor edge wear and loss, no in-paint or restoration.
