A Dutch silver small lidded jug three marks to base, with tree surmounted by a coronet for Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch) also stamped letter V, possibly date letter for 1695 - 1696, and another indistinct mark Baluster form chased with acanthus, foliate swag and drapes clasped in the beak of griffins, the front with a relief potrait in a cartouche, the hinged cover with a cast finial of a boy embracing a griffin, bead-capped scroll handle, on a spreading circular foot, with chased foliate band over a stippled ground, height 16cm, weight 7.2oz.
