Original vintage sport poster for the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico. This poster features a colour photograph of the Olympic stadium (Estadio Olímpico Universitario) which was orginally built in 1952, in Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico City, and is the work of architects Augusto Pérez, Raúl Salinas and Jorge Bravo Moro. The photograph displayed on the poster shows an aerial view of the stadium with the famous Mexico 68 design printed across the top of the image. The 1968 Summer Olympics (Spanish: Juegos Olímpicos de Verano de 1968), officially known as the Games of the XIX Olympiad, were held in Mexico City, Mexico, from October 12th to the 27th. These were the first Olympic Games to be staged in Latin America and the first to be staged in a Spanish-speaking country. The 1968 Games were the third to be held in the last quarter of the year, after the 1956 Games in Melbourne and the 1964 Games in Tokyo. Printed in Mexico by Miguel Galas. Condition: Very good condition, light browning on corner, minor creasing on edges.. Country of printing: Mexico, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 30x30, year of printing: 1968.
