Commercial advertising poster printed by Editions Hazan for The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn (Les Aventures de Tintin - Le Secret de la Licorne), the eleventh volume of The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series created by Belgian cartoonist Herge (Georges Remi). Originally published in 1942, this volume revolves around young reporter Tintin, his dog Snowy, and his friend Captain Haddock, and the mystery left by Haddock's ancestor, the 17th century Sir Francis Haddock, which could lead them to the hidden treasure of the pirate Red Rackham. The poster features the original cover of the comic book showing Tintin, Captain Haddock and Snowy circling around the central image showing the vessel ship of the title sailing across the sea, while on the wall behind the scene features a portrait Haddock's ancestor. Georges Prosper Remi (1907 – 1983), known by the pen name Hergé was a Belgian cartoonist. He is best known for creating The Adventures of Tintin, the series of comic albums which are considered one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century. He was also responsible for two other well-known series, Quick & Flupke (1930–1940) and The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko (1936–1957). His works were executed in his distinct ligne claire drawing style. Good condition, small tears and defects in margins, faint foxing. Country: France, year of printing: 1970s, designer: Herge, size (cm): 61x43
