The boy wizard: dedicated Harry Potter auction ready to cast a spell

A specialist sale of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books is being held this month by Rare Book Auctions UK.

Few books have such a strong following as the Harry Potter series and rare copies have become auction gold dust over the last decade or so.
The dedicated online-only sale – a timed auction that will end on November 27 – will offer 13 lots including some major rarities. Here’s a selection of five on offer.
1. Cast-signed first edition
This first edition, 53rd printing, of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is signed by the cast of the film including Daniel Radcliffe [Harry Potter], Rupert Grint [Ron Weasley], and Emma Watson [Hermione Granger]. It was won by the vendor in a school raffle, having been donated by a colleague whose twin sons played the doubles for the Weasley twins in the first film. The estimate is £800-1200. 2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Another lot at the sale is a signed first edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which is also inscribed by the author JK Rowling To HARRY!. In unread condition, it is offered together with tickets to the Moonlight Signing event at the Natural History Museum in July 2007, a publisher's promotional show, as well as other ephemera from the occasion.
