This brilliant-cut diamond horse brooch has an estimate of £280-£350 in the Silver & Costume Jewellery sale at Fellows in Birmingham on January 14.
That's a quacker
A gold and enamelled duck bar brooch
You can bid on this gold and enamelled bar brooch, designed as a flying duck, in the sale at Toovey's in West Sussex on January 13. It has an estimate of £80-£120.

The Jewellery, Silver and Watches auction at Elstob & Elstob in Ripon on January 16 has a number of animal brooches including the following lots:
A ruby, sapphire, pearl and diamond butterfly brooch
This Victorian ruby, sapphire, pearl and diamond butterfly brooch measures 2.8cm by 4cm. It is estimated at £600-£800.
A novelty lion brooch
This 1960s novelty lion brooch has round-cut ruby eyes and a round cabochon emerald nose. It measures 4.5cm by 5cm and comes with an estimate of £800-£1000 at the same Elstob & Elstob sale.
Two turtle brooches
Not one but two brooches in this lot at Elstob & Elstob. This pair of pearl and diamond turtle brooches has an estimate of £1800-£2500.
