JURA 10 YEAR OLD AND SUPERSTITION ISLAND SINGLE MALT Jura 10 Year Old - 40% ABV / 70clJura Superstition - 43% ABV / 70cl Qty: 2 With deer outnumbering people by around 25 to 1, it’s surprising the isle of Jura can sustain a distillery at all, let alone a decent sized one capable of supplying 2.2 million litres of spirit per annum. Although it was originally founded in 1810, the distillery closed at the turn of the century and wasn’t revived until the 1960 when it was completely rebuilt by two of the island’s local landowners. Despite the abundant peat available on the island, Jura’s style has tended to be somewhat lighter, as dictated by the blending requirements of its owners over the years. Today it is operated by Whyte & MacKay, under the Emperador umbrella.
