Royal Interest: A pair of George III silver candlesticks, Paul Storr, London 1815, also marked 'Rundell Bridge et Rundell Aurifices Regis et Principis Walliae Regentis', each of column form with cast and chased trailing ivy decoration, the sconces with leaf borders, the circular bases with anthemion and floret borders, with presentation inscription 'The Gift of His Majesty King William the Fourth to the Hon'ble Nigel Kennedy 1836' and with the Royal armorial, 31.5cm high, approximately 2400gSconces hallmarked and numbered I and 2, each engraved with small Royal Cypher. The condition of the silver is good, I cannot see any repairs, splits or holes. The detail of the leaf, scroll and other decoration remains crisp. There is some light surface wear in line with age and usage, the silver gilt is worn away in some places and faint in others.

A George III silver Wine Cooler with fruiting vine friezes, leafage scroll and ring handles, semi-gadrooned, engraved two coats of arms, motto and bird crest, inner liner and cover, London 1798, 9 3/4in high, 9in diam, 2170gms, maker: probably Robert Sharp N.B: All three maker's initials appear to have been slightly erased making the R more like a P, possibly trying to suggest the maker was Paul Storr Good condition except where part of the maker's mark erased on each piece. Decoration fairly crisp. No obvious damage or repair.

A GEORGE III SILVER CENTREPIECE PAUL STORR, LONDON 1811 With an acanthus leaf and mask capital to a scroll and shell pedestal, to a tapering reeded column, to three scrolled lion leg and claw feet, the base engraved with a crest 73.5cm (29in) high 4045g (130.05 oz) The arms of Charles DUNDAS (1751-1832) Esquire of Barton Court and his first wife Anne WHITLEY (1760-1812) daughter and heir of Ralph WHITLEY (died 1761) of Aston Hall co. Flint. They were married 1782 at Richmond, Yorkshire. Charles DUNDAS was the son and eventually heir of Thomas DUNDAS (1710-1786) of Perth, Scotland by Janet MAITLAND (1720-1805). He was an MP for Richmond 1774/1784-6, for Orkney and Shetland 1781-4 and Berkshire 1794-1832. From 1783 he was the first Chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company. From his first marriage Charles inherited great wealth and property, which included Aston Hall. In 1822 Charles married for a second time Margaret BARCLAY (1754-1841) the daughter of Charles BARCLAY and twice widowed: Firstly Charles OGILVY. Secondly Major Archibald ERSKINE. In 1832 Charles DUNDAS was created Baron of Amesbury and Barton Court, Berkshire and Aston Hall, Flintshire. The short-lived title became extinct on Charles's death at his property in Pimlico, his only issue being two daughters from his first marriage. A Fine Mid Victorian Three piece Silver gilt Tea set. Hunt and Roskell and Barnard Brothers. London 1862/69. Each baluster body chased with chinoiserie decoration. leaf capped Scroll handles. 643 grams. Hunt & Roskell was a renowned jewellers and silversmiths on Bond Street in London who for many years held the Royal Warrant of Queen Victoria. The firm was the successor to the celebrated silversmith Paul Storr who had left Rundell, Bridge & Rundell to set up his own workshop on Harrison Street near Clerkenwell in 1819. A WILLIAM IV SILVER TEAPOT by Paul Storr, London 1831, melon form, realistically moulded and cast with an oak branch and leaf spout, lobed spherical form, on a leafy vine base, the lid as a foliate pad with bud finial. 23cm long, 18 troy ouncesThe marks to the lid are rubbed, the marks on the base are rubbed but legible. The handle is firmly pinned into the sockets. The hinged cover opens and closes well. The teapot does not rock. No personalised engraving or erasure. Some age-related surface wear but generally in good condition.
