Corrosion, rust and wear to all surfaces with consequent loss to definition. One 'cup' top slightly off centre and possibly restored at stem junction, one andiron nub support missing. A pair of Arts and Crafts brass and cast iron andirons, 20th century, after the 17th century examples at Haddon Hall; popularised in the 19th century by Thomas Elsley and Edward Spencer at The Artificer's Guild. Each andiron with a coved standard supporting a brace of pierced brass foliate roundals, the face of the standard with conforming brass ornament. 26¼' high x 11' wide x 22½' deep.
