Aboriginal Boomerangs. 5 in total one large hunting boomerang 75cm x 20cm with unusual striated markings to both sides, looks to have been repaired at sometime. the second is 60cm x 6cm still faint evidence of having been decorated with poker work to one side, the third and fourth are very similar and look to be hunting boomerangs with no visible markings 66cm x 6 cm. The last one is the smallest at 29cm x 5cm flat on one side convex on the other.
Three Aboriginal Carved Lizards possibly representing Goanna's, monitor lizards, one 87 x 15cm covered in small poker work circles with banded tail, the second 86 x 18cm also covered in larger poker work circles and the third 60 x 80cm covered in larger poker work circles. All three possibly made from Mulga wood.

Clark after James Bowden, hand-coloured &/or delineated in watercolour, the folding map with a stable marginal tear, original publisher's brown cloth, split upper-joint, chipped spine, 8vo Provenance: John Massey from his affectionate Father, 6th March 1844; ffep with contemporary ink MS presentation inscription. Probably descendants of a John Massey, noted 18th c Lincolnshire Quaker, appointed by the Meetings for Sufferings to manage the Ackworth school 'intended for the education of children of Friends who were not "in affluent circumstances" ' (Burtt, Quakerism in Lincolnshire, 1989, pages 70-72).
