Ten auctions to follow

Ahead of a slightly quieter time for sales in the summer month of August, here are ten auctions coming up soon.

Ynys Mon (Anglesey) by Sir Kyffin Williams is estimated at £50,000 to £70,000 at Rogers Jones on July 24.

Together they represent a diverse selection of sales and showcase many of the categories of items you can find on thesaleroom.com.

1. Jewellery at Fellows

The fine jewellery auction at Fellows always has quality items in it. The next sale on July 29 includes a Kashmir sapphire and rose-cut diamond dress ring which will attract plenty of admirers

2. Ceramics at Adam Partridge

An auction entitled 'Studio Ceramics From the Paul Rice Collection' at Adam Partridge on July 30 presents an opportunity to browse and bid on works from a range of good artists.

3. Regional art at Rogers Jones

The Welsh sale at Rogers Jones is invariably worth checking out. Works by a number of local artists are featured in the July 24 auction including some stand-out items from perennial favourite Kyffin Williams.

It's also worth looking at the other artists. Here is a coastal scene by Gwyn Roberts.

4. Pop memorabilia at Halls

Items connected with late starman David Bowie continue to attract strong interest in salerooms.

The timed online sale at Halls ending on August 1 features a selection of memorabilia, some inscribed by Bowie, from the private collection of Edward Bell, an artist who worked with the singer.

Among the lots is this design proof for an advert promoting the Bowie single 'Fashion'.

5. Furniture at Canterbury Auction Galleries

Some auctions run for more than one day and feature items across many categories.

The three-day sale at Canterbury Auction Galleries on July 31 to August 2 has plenty to choose from and includes a range of furniture lots.

6. Sporting memorabilia at Graham Budd

With events such as the Tour de France giving cycling a profile high at the moment, the sale of vintage jerseys at Graham Budd is well-timed.

We particularly like this Toshiba-sponsored item, with a design reminiscent of abstract artist Piet Mondrian.

7. Classic cars at Silverstone Auctions

Silverstone Auctions is holding a sale of motorbikes and classic cars from July 30 to August 1.

This beautifully restored 1956 Porsche Speedster will turn many heads at this auction.

8. Automobilia at Dore & Rees

The sale on July 28 at Dore & Rees includes this 1960s chrome Bentley decanter made by Ruddspeed.

9. Watches at Sworders

The sale at Sworders on July 27 includes a number of men's and women's watches.

This men's Longines watch from 2020 has an eye-catching blue dial and is more affordable than many other Swiss watches you can find at auction.

10. Spirits at McTear's

The rare and fine whisky sale at McTear's on July 30 includes this 18 year-old Macallan single malt from 2018.
