Star Wars: the force is strong at auction

Star Wars fans get ready. The market for vintage toys relating to the original films seems to keep growing as they become increasingly collectable.

Opportunities abound at auction to acquire not just some of the earliest toys and figures, which tend to command the highest prices, but also the more general examples which are normally more affordable but also sought after.

Among the upcoming sales offering both types is Stacey’s auction on July 25 which includes no fewer than 62 lots.

1. C3PO figure

This Star Wars toy from 1977 is a vintage carded Palitoy figure of C3PO. The model was one of the first 12 figures released. This one is estimated at £600-800 at Stacey’s upcoming auction.

2. Jawa toy

Another of the first 12 Palitoy Star Wars figures to be released in 1977 was the figure of Jawa. This carded example is estimated at £600-800.

3. Emperors Royal Guard

Among the later Star Wars figures from the Return of The Jedi film is the Emperors Royal Guard. This example is carded and unpunched. It is estimated at £30-50.

4. Star Wars group
