Estimated at just £100-200, it found plenty of admirers before selling at £16,600 to a Hungarian buyer bidding via

It was offered for sale at Eastbourne Auctions on June 8-10.

When Lakatos returned to Hungary he taught at the School of Industrial Design in Budapest and also worked as a designer of furniture, textiles and interiors.
