Peridot jewellery to buy for August birthdays31 July 2020 With its distinctive yellow-green hue, peridot is the August birthstone, which means jewellery featuring this gem is ideal for celebrating birthdays in the coming month.
Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occurs in only one colour, varying in brightness from lime greens to olive shades. It has long been associated with the sun and was used historically to drive away nightmares, heal depression and open the heart.
Among the lots featuring peridot coming up for auction this month on thesaleroom.com is a range of antique and modern jewellery at a variety of price points.
Among the modern pieces coming up are a 9ct white gold peridot and diamond ring (above) offered with its original certificate and a gift box. It is available at William George’s timed online auction of jewellery which ends on August 6. It has an estimate of £250-350.
