Get creative: Auction of furnishings from London’s h Club

Items from one of London’s best known members’ clubs for people in the creative industries, the h Club, formerly the Hospital Club, are coming to auction.

Reception desk

A 'c-shaped’ reception desk, offered at Wyles Hardy’s sale of contents from the h Club, formerly the Hospital Club.

The club in Covent Garden, which was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, announced last September that it was closing permanently.

It stood on the site of an old 18th-century hospital in Endell Street and housed a restaurant, gallery, screening room, live performance space and a television studio over seven floors.

The contents now will be offered by Wyles Hardy & Co in a timed online auction that closes between September 15-17.  Comprising two parts that are running consecutively, the first section contains approximately 1600 mixed lots, with the second section offering the contents from the screening room but which includes the option to purchase all the lots in their entirety as a single lot.

The auction will offer a huge variety of items including designer lighting, bar, restaurant and lounge furniture, artworks, bedroom and bathroom furnishings, kitchen and catering apparatus, and sound and acoustic equipment.

Here are five lots that are offered in the sale to give you a sense of the kind of things available, but there's plenty, plenty more to view in the full online catalogue.
